OUR CULTURAL ROOTS
Mexico, a culture that is also told with coffee.
Coffee as an expression of identity
Behind every cup there's a universe of traditions, knowledge and meetings. We invite you to discover three ways in which coffee forms part of mexican culture.
The land and it's communities
Traditions that stay
The art of sharing
Regions with coffee history
Coffee in our daily life
Coffee, Craft, and Community
From Veracruz to Chiapas, through Puebla and Oaxaca, coffee is woven into local landscapes, economies, and traditions.
Each region has its own story, shaped by its communities, cultivation practices, and relationship with the land.
From traditional café de olla to Veracruz’s iconic café lechero, Mexico has many ways of preparing, serving, and enjoying this beloved beverage.
These customs evoke family gatherings, lingering conversations after meals, and memories shared across generations.
Coffee also connects with other expressions of our culture: ceramics, textiles, cuisine, literature, and folk art.
A clay cup, a piece of Talavera pottery, or a handwoven tablecloth can tell stories about the places and hands that brought them to life.
OUR CULTURAL VISION
A DREAM SPREADING IT'S ROOTS
Beyond a cup of coffee
We imagine a future where Raíz Viva can also be a gathering place to discover Mexico’s cultural richness, share stories, and build new connections.
We are inspired by books, crafts, traditions, and the conversations that arise when we gather around a table.
For now, we are beginning by sharing our coffee and the stories that accompany it, while continuing to nurture a dream we hope to grow alongside our community.

Mexico in images, stories and traditions
Mexico’s coffee culture is reflected in its landscapes, traditions, artisanal expressions, and, above all, in the people who keep knowledge passed down from generation to generation alive.
Each image represents a part of this cultural richness, inspiring us to continue discovering and sharing our roots.
Each tradition has a story and every encounter can be transformed into an opportunity to meet other cultures.
In Raíz Viva we want to discover and share more about the richness of mexican coffee, creating connections with people and organizations that value cultural patrimony and knowledge sharing.
Do you share this passion for culture, coffe and our traditions? We would love to meet you!
